Pretend play stations open the door for opportunities for the students to learn communication skills, social skills, and problem solving skills. I would like to incorporate a pretend play station with costumes, exercise balls, and play items where my students can act out scenarios, practice language and literacy in a creative way, and ultimately get to be kids. The yoga balls will help keep my students focused at reading group while burning off some energy. Students at this school lack experience and the background knowledge that will help create opportunity for higher level thinking. With the pretend play station, they get a chance to use their imagination and practice the importance of how to communicate.
