Many of my students do not go home to a grown up who can sit and read with them. Reading to and with children is a wonderful way to increase not only the desire to read, but to increase reading levels. Most of my students are reading below grade level and and struggle with what they can read. Audio books would be an amazing addition to our classroom literacy center to help increase their reading levels and instill in my students a love of reading. It is my goal to grow my students in their love of reading as well as their ability. These CD players and audio books would be used during a center time or during silent reading or free time.
