Today there is such a focus on technology and how to use it but not all children have access. By providing the three requested iPads for our room, my students will not only have access, but be able to explore how to use them and be able to learn in a different ways. It will also help even out the playing field between them and students who do have access to tablets and computers at home. There are many apps geared towards STEM and PreK that would be appropriate for the classroom that would allow the students to explore science and mathematics while using technology. This will better prepare them for their education to come as technology is used more and more in classrooms today. It will also provide a balance in play between technology and other hands on learning activities. The students will also be able to help look up different things that interest them at a child appropriate level. Many of the students this year have an interest in outer space and the human body. What better way to learn than to discover it together? This will also promote early learning habits that they can use for a lifetime.
