Studies have shown that multiple areas of the brain are activated by using more than one sense to learn. Many of the most memorable learning experiences occur when senses are used. Think about how memories flood your mind when you smell or feel something familiar. By donating to this project, you will provide my students an opportunity to explore, inquire, and own their learning process. Although I incorporate a variety of sensory activities already, a sensory table would encourage them to more easily investigate through measuring, manipulating, mixing, pouring, and building. In addition, they will establish relationships, improve communication skills by articulating their thoughts and ideas, take risks, observe, hypothesize, and solve problems. Your contribution will support the diverse needs of all learners for years to come!
