My students will gain a respect for books through ownership of their own books. They can handle the books and read the stories over and over. Spending time with the characters like a close friend. They can learn life skills through the characters mishaps, problem solving, and fun. These books from Kaplan Early Learning Company and AKJ Education will help my class be prepared for fourth grade. The students will also feel appreciation and gratitude for the people who donate and make these books possible for them. In turn, when they grow-up, they may be in a position to donate to others, as they remember the generosity shown to them through donorschoose.org.
