I teach K- 12 visual art to over 400 amazing students in a small, rural school nestled in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I have the privilege of guiding them through their creative endeavors throughout their school experience. My students are inventive and willing to tackle challenging topics. As an educator, I love challenging them to develop their minds to think of innovative solutions, like an artist. Our rural community faces some challenges and inequities based on geographic location which can make communication and outreach difficult for my students.
