Many times during the day we meet together as a whole group. I read to my students, we work together learning new strategies in reading and math or take a brain and body break. A larger carpet will give us more space for us to work together using manipulatives during a math lesson or dance during a brain break. Students working together and helping each other learn gives everyone an opportunity to be successful. During whole group instruction my kids need space to sit and work on white boards or with manipulatives. When they have space to work together they can learn from each other. The students become more confident when they can teach each other what they have learned. With this confidence they are more excited about learning.
