Flexible seating will allow my students to feel relaxed while learning. Students will be able to take control of their learning while choosing to make smart choices as well as manage their time. By giving my students options to sit where they feel most comfortable, they will be able to complete tasks and feel relaxed and creative while writing, brainstorming and collaborating. Currently, students have the option to sit in small groups to complete tasks. Students tend to sit under the smart board on the carpet, under desks and even under the counter. This Flexible Seating Project will allow students to feel like they are at home or at a corner cafe, lounging in their favorite chair while completing work! The futon will create an intimate seating area while the coffee table will serve as a workplace for tablets and books. The pub tables and stools will also be placed strategically throughout the room to allow for more seating and areas of creativity and learning. I feel that good lessons combined with a relaxed learning environment will help my students be engaged and creative with their writing.
