Our public school has a limited supply of book sets for our fourth graders to read. Many are old and missing copies or not of interest to our new generation of learner. We need to inspire our students with great literature that will stay with them and expand their futures. One and Only Ivan is a high interest novel that explores important themes and will impact students in a lasting way. Students will be learning to be better readers while their attention will be captivated by the literature. Schools are slow to keep up with students' needs for up-to-date literature that meets their needs.
