My students would greatly benefit from new tables in our class. The tables and desks we are currently using are falling apart and have been vandalized by previous students. Next year, our new math curriculum requires students to do thirty minute computer based lessons each day. Not only would new tables provide a safe space for the computers, but it will also give students the appropriate area needed for their manipulatives and workbooks. Tables will also provide students the opportunity to have collaborative discussions in small groups. Collaborative learning promotes higher order thinking skills! Tables improve productivity in the classroom and allow flexible grouping!
