We love to use art for sensory and fine motor skill building. A lot of our art projects involve paint and we desperately need a safe place for our art to dry so a drying rack would be a life saver. We've been using paint brushes for so long we are hoping to branch off and use some new manipulatives like rollers and daubers and new medias like ink. Some of our best communication, social skills, fine motor skills, and behavior training happen during our art groups. It's a highly motivating activity for my students and they try so much harder to communicate and to participate with their peers. It's also a great sensory experience and sensory activities are so important in the daily routines of my students. All kids benefit from having artistic outlets.
