I am asking for Chromebooks to support my science students in their ability to both conduct research and to aid them in developing their written communication. My students have been studying ocean ecosystems and are putting together marine portfolios which include writing about the habitat they have chosen, summaries of articles they have read, and videos they have watched. I currently have access to 4 Chromebooks and no lap or desktops. Many of my students do not have access to computers in their homes. The necessity to provide access to these tools becomes that much more important in the school setting.
