A horseshoe table will allow each student to be close to the teacher during small group lessons.. The teacher is able to focus on all students of the small group and can watch the learning and offer instant feedback and redirection to students who may otherwise become distracted. Students can learn to focus and will remain on-task because the teacher is always close. A horseshoe-shaped table will help me as I teach my diverse classroom full of students in general education, advanced learners, and students with special needs. This table will really impact my students because it will be used throughout the day across the curriculum. We will use it for math, reading, writing, spelling, science, and social skills. The horseshoe-shaped table will become a valued resource for the learning of all students as we meet for small group instruction, social skills, learning conferences, and other learning opportunities.
