Having a center set of iPads would make a huge difference in the learning of my first-grade students. First grade is the foundation for many Literacy foundations and is where students really begin to learn to read! Having iPads gives the students so many ways to take charge of their learning and work on areas that they need most, all in a fun, engaging way! I work at an at-risk school and have several students who are English Language Learners. Having the iPads will give them the opportunity to have another way to learn! What is good for English Learners is good for all students and these iPads will be filled with apps that will help the students with their math and literacy. There are so many apps that help with phonics, fluency, reading comprehension, math, and number fluency-all areas where students need to be successful in order to move on to second grade. I work so hard trying to come up with different ways for my students to learn, to try and help all of my students in a way that is best for them. In the world that we live in now, technology can be such a wonderful way to get students engaged and to help them succeed!
