The snacks that have been requested will help my students succeed in the classroom, because they will have a full stomach. So many times throughout the school year, my students have came to me telling me they didn't have food to eat at home. When children have an empty stomach they can't focus on what we are learning.
All students should have the opportunity to eat a meal at home. Since I can't always provide them with a full meal, I at least try to provide them with snacks while they are in my classroom. This will help them at least focus until they are able to have a meal at lunch time. The snacks that have been added to my cart include a variety of snacks that the students may choose from. Some of these include granolas, cookies, gummies, and crackers. The students will feel safe in my classroom. They will feel like they have a place they can come to and ask for a snack when they don't have food at home. They will be able to build a relationship with me and learn better in the classroom.
