My students need a classroom that is not only visually pleasing but also limited to clutter. All students are more likely to become actively engaged when distractions are decreased. Outside of educational toys and tools, my classroom requires copies of I.E.Ps and other paperwork. All items can be neatly organized in crates. Outside of reducing clutter, organization has been known to promote a sense of security and builds mindfulness amongst scholars. Classroom clutter can be very distracting thus limiting to student engagement. An explosion of colors have also been noted to be very distracting, specifically to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Not only were these crates chosen for their meaningful physical use but have been chosen based off their colorless and simplistic aesthetic look.
