My students love to learn, and robotics have captured their imagination. They are fascinated by all the jobs robots can do and inspired to create new robots to solve more of the world’s challenges. But, first we need to learn to code! My students will be using the new tablets to get hands-on experience learning how to code our classroom robots. They can program a robot to run through a maze; see it carry, push and pull objects. Those are just some of the things my students kindergarten through fifth grade will accomplish. As they learn how a robot functions and how to make it move in specific ways, students will be inspired to problem solve further. Once we conquer our classroom robots, it’s on to seeking out new jobs and designing new robots to accomplish the tasks! The future belongs to those students who dare to dream the next big idea, and have the skills to make those ideas happen.
