We're learning mindfulness to help us be ready to focus on our learning. But it's hard to be mindful when you're squished into a little desk with papers all over it! We all know that students need to be in a place -- literally and figuratively -- where they're ready to learn, and mindfulness can help. This project will enable an emotional support classroom of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade to learn mindfulness through a variety of techniques. The yoga mats will give us a way to stretch out on the floor and work out our wiggles, while also improving our flexibility and control through learning yoga. The chair pockets will keep our class papers and school supplies neat, tidy, and out of the way. An assortment of sensory objects gives busy hands something to do when they get fidgety. These materials will help us do our best work and stay calm, focused, and productive!
