Currently, my first through fourth grade students are sitting on a carpet that is way too small and being held together by duct tape. This has caused much distraction throughout our classes, due to kids picking at the tape and the unraveled threads. In addition, it has caused some classroom management issues because students are sitting so close together that they are touching. I chose 2 of these "everyone has a place" carpets, so that every student will have a space of their own and room to place an instrument on the floor in front of them to use during class.
