A classroom rug fosters a supportive learning community and serves as an anchor for gatherings. A comfortable meeting area transforms the environment from cold and institutional to a welcoming home for learning. Gathering on the carpet is more engaging and effective for whole class instruction. It also provides an inviting space for morning meeting and peace circles. Environment plays a big role in students feeling safe and brave enough to take academic risks. A classroom printer will allow students to have the printed resources they need to execute activities and projects. It will give students more choice in using technology to complete and print assignments. Weighted lap pads will help calm and refocus students with sensory processing issues, attention difficulties, and autism. Classroom globes will help students understand their place in the world! They will be used throughout the school year as a reference point for historical and current events.
