STEM principles in a preschool setting provide a structure for children's natural inclinations to explore, build, and question. Using this iPad in my classroom will allow my students to utilize apps for beginning math, science, engineering, and early literacy. It will allow them to work independently or cooperatively in small groups. The iPad will also be used for quiet time activities and listening to books, exposing my students to additional readers and literature. The camera feature will allow me to document my students' progress. This iPad will put technology into the hands of my young students and promote literacy, math, and engineering skills as well as allow me to photograph their academic and social milestones. Our district is currently utilizing iPads in the kindergarten classrooms. The addition of an iPad to my Pre-K classroom will allow my students the head start of already having a working knowledge of this teaching STEM tool.
