My students need a safe place where they can go when they need to escape the pressures of school. The calm corner will allow students to learn and practice coping skills to use when feeling angry, anxious, nervous, sad ect. These skills can better prepared students to deal with the academic stressors of school and life. Items that I have choosen are to make a comfortable and calm seating area in my office, with objects and tools to help manage their anxiety and anger. This includes bean bag chairs, fidget toys, kinetic sand and learning materials to deal with emotional regulation.
