My students are so enthusiastic, soaking up lessons and experiences as they go. This collection of picture books will help them to grow a more rounded and kinder view of the world as they read about the black, Indigenous and people of color represented in the pages and make connections to themselves. I will be featuring these fantastic books as read alouds throughout the year, using them to generate conversations about family, self, kindness and culture. It's so important for children to see themselves and others represented in quality literature.
