A classroom rug is essential in our 5th grade classroom. Students come to the carpet multiple times throughout the day for class lessons, small group instruction, book club discussions, partner work, and independently reading around the room. A new rug would make our classroom a more inviting space to gather together and to cozy up and read. We have used our current rug (which was handed down from a retiring teacher) for 7 years, and it is definitely in need of replacement. Lamps and carpets soften the "feel" of our classroom helping students with and without special needs to feel comfortable in their learning environment.
