In Pre-Kindergarten, our classroom is divided into “Learning Centers;” art, math/fine motor, dramatic play, reading, and blocks. Each of these items will be placed throughout our classroom in our learning centers. Many of the items are reusable from year to year. With these materials, the students will be able to explore what they already know about apples and build upon that knowledge. The various sizes of apples will be used to learn new concepts (biggest/smallest/heaviest/lightest/etc.). The foam apples will be used as art materials. The lacing apples will be utilized to strengthen their fine motor abilities. The cash register will assist in the growth of monetary knowledge and simple math concepts.
