High school science isn't easy. I've seen that glazed over look when I mention I'm a science teacher...but they don't know my secret. My students are collaborating; my students are forming their own questions and ideas; my students are arguing and defending their thoughts with evidence; my students are collecting their own data. Its amazing! And I want to step up our scientific "game". Three words: portable digital scales. Think of the possibilities! Water quality test at a local pond? No problem... let me get you 5 milliliters of water on my PORTABLE SCALE! Classroom pet (an adorable dwarf hamster) has a problem with weight gain? Let's just pop him on the scale and keep a health record on our easy to use digital scale. Do you need to weigh your egg for a diffusion experiment? Yes, we could do that with our awesome digital scales! This is our quantitative classroom dream!
