The math manipulatives I have asked for through this project will allow my students to get additional hands on experience with elapsed time and fractions. In the third grade we begin the explorations of fractions and the fraction circles will provide the students a way to visualize fractions physically. It will also allow me to connect the idea of fractions to the real world. The elapsed time rulers make it easier for students to measure the amount of time that has passed. Students will be able to make the connection of telling time on an analog clock to the elapsed time rulers.
