Believe it or not, Legos help pave the brick pathway for creative and collaborative learning. Pun totally intended!! As educators, we are constantly looking for any new and innovative way to offer our students opportunities for success and creative way of thinking. Why not support that thinking with research based ways of encouraging their creativity? Collaboration is becoming more widely expected among working adult professionals, so why not expect it of today's students as well? Legos are a great way to encourage collaboration and communication with others. This hand on learning experience also forces students to think critically about how to solve a given problem. They are not only learning life skills, but also learning how to grow up and become functioning, well rounded citizens.
