Having new and comfortable seating is very motivational. Right now kids are sometimes sitting on broken or taped chairs. This can be uncomfortable as well as distracting. We want to keep kids focused on reading, not on their chairs. My kids will benefit from having new bright-colored chairs for guided reading groups. During guided reading, kids need to be focused and engaged. We want our students to make the greatest gains possible each year, and having new chairs will keep the squeaking and picking at cracks or tape to a minimum. Kids will be able to stay focused on their teacher and engaged in the text.

About my class
