The variety of books will provide my students with concrete, visual examples of what certain social skills and self-regulation skills look like and how they can utilize them. These read alouds allow my students to engage with social-emotional content in a captivating way. These books open the doors for discussion on how students can handle their emotions and body responses when challenges arise. Not only will these books support my students socially and emotionally, but they will also provide literacy instruction as well. While I am teaching my students different strategies to handle their emotions and how to grow socially, I am also providing literacy instruction to help them grow as readers!
