Many of my students struggle on a daily basis with sensory regulation. Many are over stimulated most of the day, which makes it hard for them to stay focused. Other times my students need help regulating emotions and behaviors. My ideal classroom is a place that feels safe for each of my students individual needs. Many of students need an area where they can calm down without feeling like they are in trouble, to let emotions that they are able to communicate, and help with other sensory needs. I want to create a safe, fun, and calming enviroment so that my students are able to learn to the best of their abilities! Many of the items: the TENT, BEAN BAG, and SENSORY TOYS will be used within the calm down area in our classroom. The other items, the cushion seats, bouncy seats, and headphones will be used to help regulate the main sensory needs of each of my students.
