The bean bag seat, comfy floor seats, and balance balls will give my 6th graders a chance to be comfortable while learning. The balance balls will also help my students who are wiggly and who need to move all the time. Research has shown that classrooms designed to promote different modes of learning are more apt to stay engaged. Children take more ownership of the classroom when they can choose their seats and can move around when needed. Studies show that classroom design matters to how children engage, participate, and ultimately stay involved in their learning experience. With this project, I hope to better serve the needs of my students.
