The fluorescent light covers are amazing in many classrooms, but provide an extra layer of support in an intensive instruction special education classroom. Often the overhead lights are too bright, distracting, and cause over-stimulation visually. This requested Hammock Pod Chair will be beneficial for my classroom because of the sensory input that it will provide for my intensive instruction students. My students have a plethora of sensory needs, a large one being sensory input from repetitive movement. This helps them because it provides them with the ability to learn to self soothe themselves in stressful situations, as well increase their core body strength and coordination.
