I am looking to expand the reach of our new garden and the opportunities it can provide for our students to observe the natural world and investigate the structures that are invisible to the naked eye. My students will get hands on experience with dissecting plants to investigate plant anatomy and to get a closer look at the abundance of life that contributes to our healthy garden. By using these microscopes, my students will continue to explore their world in a more precise way by using journals to write down their observations of plants, bugs, fungi, and fish eggs. Additionally, when working on engineering projects, my students and all 8th grade science students will get to see the differences in structure of the materials they are using.
