I have 28 ESE students in grades K-5th living in the heart of Liberty City (inner city) located in Miami, Florida. My students all come from low socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, all on free lunch, and all living in foster homes or in a single parent household. My students are faced with many obstacles mentally, academically, financially, and environmentally that makes it difficult for them to imagine having a successful life.
