Escape rooms are growing in popularity as a fun night out for kids and adults alike, much like going to the movies or going bowling. Many teachers see this concept of “escaping” as an opportunity in the classroom! The fact is, students are more engaged in learning when they are collaborating with peers and working with their hands. Educational escape rooms are a great way to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills all while reviewing important concepts in the classroom. These BreakoutEDU kits will allow us 2 years of access to the program and provide 2 kits for our classroom. Each kit contains lock boxes, invisible ink, thumb drives, red light viewers, blacklights, a series of programmable locks, and more! Having two kits will allow each student to have a chance to interact with the challenges in smaller groups. This kit will greatly improve our current escape rooms which are entirely online. BreakoutEDU will merge the technology component of escape rooms with real-life experiences to make our “games” (learning...shhh! Don’t tell the kids!) even more exciting!
