My students love to read - especially biographies. I picked these novels because children need to see what they can become once they make up their mind and understand that success does not come easy. Many of my students do not have access to books at home. I believe that young people need good role models and real-life people to look up to. The novels will be utilized in literature circles. Students may pick books of their choice. They will be placed in groups, and they will read and discuss together using the reading strategies that we learn in reading class. My goal is for my students to get "hooked" and want to turn the page!
