New this year, our district is combining two elementary schools to create one very populated one. We would like to build a community within the school as we are merging music programs from different schools. We would like to use these ukuleles as part of community and culture building blocks for the students in the 3rd and 4th grades. With these instruments, we want to combine fun and exploration into learning a new type of string instrument. Ukuleles will help the students become more well rounded musicians because we are able to do hands-on learning of chord structures and basic strumming patterns that would be mute without the instruments there to help use demonstrate and explore. We want music to be a fun and safe learning space for all types of students. These ukuleles can help achieve that goal by creating an outlet for students to enjoy, explore and perform on these unique instruments.
