I am trying to create a MakerSpace within my classroom/school in order to motivate my students. My class is over 50% Amish and are very good at working with their hands. We are also a project based school which means that we have many real life learning activities occurring in our classroom. Students will require hands-on types of skills, along with problem solving and creativity, in order to succeed as adults. A MakerSpaces is an excellent and safe place for my students to learn these skills. It is also a comfortable place for many of our community members to provide their expertise in these area.
