Daily writing activities help the students to develop foundational skills in writing mechanics, sentence structure, grammar and punctuation. These Write and Draw Journals will provide students with the opportunity to express themselves through the written word and illustrate their ideas. Students will brainstorm on daily writing prompts with classmates, which will provide them the opportunity to share and develop ideas with each other. Students will share their writing and will have on opportunity to reflect on their ideas. They can look back at their growth at the end of the year and have a memoir of their year in first grade.
