My classroom is receiving robotic kits this fall from a Educational Foundation grant. Our school has Chromebooks which are not compatible with the robot programming system, so my students will need a different device to program the robots that are purchased. I originally was planning to bring my personal iPads, only 2, for the students to use. Then I had a friend suggest DonorsChoose.org to me. The iPads can be used in a variety of other ways throughout my classroom such as; guided reading, Imovies that could be made for Reading, and Science projects. Students will be able to design, build and test robots that can complete complex tasks, record live data, respond to environmental changes and more. The robots and iPads will bring technology, science and computing to life with hands-on, project-based STEM learning for our students. The only limit is our students’ imagination. Students would not even realize they would be learning as they are designing.
