Students that are provided with opportunities to move and choose a space where they feel comfortable to complete work are more motivated and engaged in the classroom. Flexible seating allows students to choose seating options that best suit their learning needs. Students will have the option to choose between stools, floor pillows, wobble disks, etc. We are requesting a wide variety of seating options such as fidget bands, wobble cushions, pillows, lamps, and lap desks in order to meet the needs of many students, some of which need to exert energy or some which need a quiet, cozy work space to reach their full potential. My goal is to create an environment that allows students to have the freedom to choose their seating in order to help them focus during the school day. It also facilitates independence and decision makers who know they have a say in their education and needs. Flexible seating will enable my students to be more engaged and motivated. Students will be excited to come to school where they have a say in their learning and more importantly, be able to be successful!
