A document camera is a device that allows teachers to place an object or paper underneath and project it on the screen for students to see. Teachers are able to face the class and give instruction while writing on the documents for students to follow along. I will use the document camera to help students to comprehend texts better as well as become better writers. I will be able to use the document camera to teach students skills and strategies such as annotating and finding evidence to support their thinking. Having a document camera that I can show students these skills will make it easier for them to understand rather than trying to explain or tell them.
