Technological literacy is becoming a critical part of our curriculum and educational system. To enter the workplace, having these basic skills is no longer just desirable; it’s a requirement. Students at a Title 1 school, such as mine, are at risk of being left even further behind on this subject. I want to give my students access to technology on a daily basis and incorporate it into their daily lessons. I will utilize the Kindle Fire tablets during centers for Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Most people take for granted the access they have to technology. However, many students at my school are not so fortunate. For some, the most access they have is for one hour in a specials class that’s on a four day rotation. These kindles would bridge the socioeconomic gap, so they do not get left behind in digitized world.
