All of our students want to learn to feel confident in their world. Our tech lab has aged computers that have fallen into disrepair and or are obsolete. Our classes of 12 of fewer students only have three to four working computers that remain on and connected to the network which limits access to completing school work, communication and productivity to less than half of the class at a time. By providing more computing options, scholars can engage in class and remain focused and successful, limiting distraction and opportunities for misbehavior. Access to their own work station allows them to be creative, follow sequential steps and practice essential skills consistently. The added benefit of a computer station for every student is that each scholar can receive assistance in a timely fashion and build investment in their learning.
Each scholar having access to a computing device, they will be able to create digital videos, showcase skills and build digital literacy. We can build out data tracking systems to show behavioral and academic data trends to share with student families and engaged in shared work through google classrooms. Interactive learning can be achieved and skills can be mastered in less time leading to more robust and complete learning. Having access to participate will increase student motivation to come to school and be ready to learn.
Bringing computer access to each student in the class will allow:
All students the opportunity to participate
Each student to master skills.
Each student to be part of our learning community.
Each student a chance to love school and themselves.
