These materials will help our classroom become more "open" by providing room for cooperative learning projects during social studies and science. The bookshelf will make a large impact on the available space in our classroom-it will free up a corner of our room where we will use clipboards and cushions to work together during activities or project work. We are a Leader in Me school and students have Leadership Notebooks where they track everything that is important to them such as: their goals, celebrations, responsibilities, and dreams. My goal is to encourage my students to meet their goals in a supportive and cooperative environment. The games and activities will help students to make connections to the content and allow them to work together to problem-solve. Cooperative learning allows students to bring their own perspectives into consideration and learn from each other to solve problems or complete projects.
