These students have been doing their very best to reach every goal that I have put in front of them with limited resources. I think it's only fair to allow them to see their full potential when they have resources that don't limit them. At the current time, I have five desktop computers that keep breaking down because they are really old. I have not been able to use them in months. We are requesting five new Chromebooks which will really have a profound effect on how much higher these students can achieve. It broke my heart when I saw how excited my students got about reading on RAZ-Kids and playing the online educational activities I have created, only to find out that the computers, I currently have, can barely stay working long enough for them to utilize these programs. I had to borrow the Chromebooks from the higher grades, and it was limited, because I can only use it during the weeks the higher grades didn't need them. This barely happens. Just seeing how my students were so excited about reading and working online made me realize I need to make sure they get some Chromebooks, so they can utilize these programs everyday in small groups. I just think my students deserve the best, they live in Urban settings and they do go through a lot different things that kids their age really shouldn't be dealing with. However, in my classroom, I try my best to give them what they need to succeed. I believe these Chromebooks will enhance their learning because it will be easy for them to navigate the Chromebook and it will give them access to reading online and other online activities.
