My students will begin their 2nd grade year creating and personalizing their classroom space with the help of a Cricut. Students will be able to create themed names for learning centers, personalize their independent reading book boxes and create their own nameplates for their desks. Involving my students in the creation of their learning space will create a sense of community that will enhance their love and motivation for learning. My students will decorate and organize their library space, creating a comforting space for them to dive into reading and improve their literary skills. Our classroom will be a bright, inviting space created by the students and for the students. Students can organize their library using color-coded book bins to designate differentiated reading levels that allows students to choose books on their level to facilitate increased reading comprehension and fluency.
