As you may already know, the need for up-to-date technology in the classroom is on the rise. When given the right technology tools, teachers are able to better enhance student learning by providing daily engaging, hands-on lessons. As a prime example, think about the use of smartphones in our everyday lives. My students need one smartphone for each pair of Virtual Reality Glasses we have for our students. Smartphones have become very powerful learning tools in recent years and we are very excited about how they can assist with many educational tasks at Blake Elementary! Recently our school was able to purchase a class set of Viewmaster VR Glasses for our STEAM Lab. We are very motivated to use these virtual reality tools with our students ASAP! We plan to start with using Google Expeditions and explore places all over the world from our classroom. However, in order to start using these VR Glasses to explore the world, we need your help: We are in need of one smartphone for each pair of VR Glasses we have for our students. The smartphones will not use cell phone connectivity. We will connect the smartphones to our school’s wireless network for their connectivity needs.
