The materials I have requested will be used year after year with many at risk students. I will implement Morning Tub Time in my first grade classroom. Each morning tub will be designed for 4-5 students to explore and create together using the Magnetic Blocks, Block Buddies, Building Bars, Stem Building Blocks, Tool Kit set, and Pattern Block Activity Cards. Morning tubs that include Rory Story Cubes will give my students time to create with stories using the Rory Story Cubes about topics that relate to my first graders. These materials will allow my students to actively participate in activities that will not only help foster each student's creativity, self-expression, social and emotional growth but will also aid in the students' development of the following skills: problem-solving, fine and gross motor, mathematical, literacy, and language. All of the requested materials will provide my students the opportunity for less direct instruction and more inquiry-based learning. My first graders will become engaged students who are buzzing with excitement! Students will be provided with an opportunity to collaborate with their classmates in a cooperative learning environment. Students will use their critical thinking skills to plan, build, and create original pieces using the materials and tools. By donating to this project, you will give my current class and all the upcoming classes the opportunity to start their day off correctly with engaging, educational choices that promote choice, educational growth, and teamwork.
